do you remember the amazing post Ritva in Finland made ,well she made it into a beautiful book
(being read here in the above image) and I brought it proudly with me to exhibit amongst my own work(the bookwas bought by the fair organizer no less)

I did a reading of ritvas book and talked about how it came to be in Ireland, lots of people found it very inspiring.

It was a super event , very friendly , a cozy atmostpheric venue and a real air of d.i.y all round.
I really am looking forward to next year and would like to publically thank Roísín my daughter for all her help and support, Sarah  and Wayne for organizing the event and my dear  friend cartoonist extraordinaire.....Elida for sheltering me while I was up in the Big City.

making my books

I had an interview with writer and cartoonist andy luke  it was fun and  unusual thing for me, it was really helpful to think about the things he asked me.
Then to meet him at the zine fair in person was interesting, his work is so funny and brave.

bringing the innerworld ....outside.

I am in the middle of making three different books for next weekends artist book and zine extravaganza. Its challenging but ultimately worth it because I love the experience of bringing my world out there ,its affordable art and I get to meet so many lovely people. If you are able to , do come by and say hello.

last years fair

"This year the fair moves to The Supafast Building on Great Strand Street (just off Capel St), and will host some of the best in European DIY publishing and celebrate the handmade! Much love, time, blood, sweat, tears, staples, prit-stick and photocopying goes into the production of these special limited edition publications. This is your chance not only to get hold of these treasures, but to meet some great artists, illustrators, writers, nerds and weirdos and to support what they do! The events will be accompanied by live music from some amazing Dublin bands, zine and poetry readings and screenings. 11th & 12th of August from 12-6pm. Admission free."
